Six Divisions of Twelve Teams playing in a Monday Night League
Good evening all. Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we suspended fixtures because of the coronavirus pandemic, but finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Following Boris’ announcement on Monday that all restrictions will be lifted by June 21st (at the earliest), I have started working on a framework to get us up and running again, and I will be “meeting” with Roger and Mick on Monday to go through ideas etc...
None of this is helped by my own health issues at the moment, but I’ll continue to do as much as I can whether in hospital (he says currently typing from ward 34), or at home.
We have a lot to do, with finishing off the 19/20 season, to getting the right fit for the new 21/22 season, so please bear with us. On top of that, June 21st isn’t fixed, and may move. That said, we have 4 months though, so plenty of time to get this done 👍.
As a starter for 10, I will be contacting all captains (hopefully next week), so we can start firming things up. It is my utmost wish that all our pubs and clubs have survived the pandemic, want the pool teams back, and that all teams want to carry on, sadly though, I fear that may not be the case. If you are a captain and receive a text from me, please respond as quickly as possible. The sooner you get back to me, the sooner we can firm things up.
Thanks all, speak soon, Andy

In November 2007, the Coventry City Pool League finally caught up with technology, and dipped it's toes into the world wide web. Now in it's fifth stage model with fully validated W3C xhtml and css, with comprehensive team and league information plus archives for people on-the-go, we think it's among the best in the country. Hopefully you'll find it refreshing and informative. All comments, positive and negative, will be welcomed by e-mail or on our Facebook page.
The City Pool League was established over 40 years ago, and we're one of the largest leagues in the country, currently boasting 72 teams, and almost 800 registered players, from across the city and surrounding area. In it's current format, six divisions of twelve play on a Monday night to Old EPA Rules, albeit with a slightly different break rule.
The new season starts on Monday June 10th, 2019, and with the exception of short breaks during Summer and Christmas, the League season will run right through to Finals weekend in May 2020.
